Reaching a new year doesn’t always seem like a big deal. But as we head into 2020, I’m breathing a sigh of relief. I’m more than ready for 2019 to be in my rear view mirror. And I’m optimistic the new year will be more to my liking.
For one thing, I expect my recovery from back surgery to continue and I’m looking forward to more mobility and freedom. Which means I can finally tackle recording my first audio book after putting it on the back burner in 2019. It also means I’ll be finishing up my latest novel, which I hope to publish in the spring. And then there’s the possibility of a little travel. A change of scenery would be peachy keen!
Besides, 2020 has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Sounds futuristic! It’s almost as exciting as New Year’s Eve 1999 when the year 2000 arrived. That was very cool. It took a while to get used to saying and writing 2000. I’m sure people celebrating New Year’s Eve a century before, when 1899 ticked over to 1900, thought that was pretty impressive. But moving from 1999 to 2000 – from the twentieth century to the twenty-first century – was especially dramatic. And now, jumping forward to 2020, well, it kind of makes you wanna write a song about it.
So my spirits are up! I’m ready to roll. 2020 – Glad to meet ya!
